چکیده

The effect of different concentrations Indole acetic acid (IAA) on spore germination and gametophyte development Ceratopteris thalictroides, a leptosporangiate fern the family Pteridaceae found at marshy places near Sitamata sanctuary in Rajasthan, was observed. highest percentage recorded 2 to 6 ppm concentration range IAA, with minimum 10 concentration. number cells protonemal filament percentages 2-D growth, spatulate cordate were 1 followed by control. Maximum archegonia antheridia also IAA control treatments, gradually declining from treatments. However, maximum sporophyte 4   Key words: ppm, ferns, sporophytes.

Specificity of the Antheridogen from Ceratopteris thalictroides (L.) Brongn.

Characteristics of the fern antheridogen from Ceratopteris thalictroides (L.) Brongn. are investigated. These are: (a) determination of molecular size (it is readily dialyzable), (b) pK(a) (about 5), (c) movement in thin layer chromatography, and (d) ability to induce dark germination of fern spores. These four characteristics are compared to the same characteristics of three other antheridogen...

Cyathea atrovirens (Langsd. & Fisch.) Domin, an intensely exploited tree fern, is found inside forests in several succession stages, as well as in swamps, roadsides and unused fields in the Rio dos Sinos basin, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. This study evaluated the in vitro germination and gametophyte development of C. atrovirens under different pH conditions, as well as s...
